Chinese New Year (CNY) came too early this year? Fret not, join in the celebration this year, with many exciting events lined up for you!

This year’s street light-up, designed and developed by a team of students from Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), led by Dr Jason Lim, surrounds the themes “Success”, “Celebration” and “Family”. The street light-up lasts from 4 January till 22 February. Cruise along Eu Tong Sen Street, New Bridge Road, South Bridge Road and Garden Bridge and immerse yourself in the festive atmosphere.

On 24 January, countdown into the Year of the Rat with various live performances and celebrate along MediaCorp artistes in the bustling Chinatown. Be there as the countdown party climaxes to an exciting display of fireworks.

What about food? The Festive Street Bazaar happening along the streets of Chinatown will surely satisfy your picky palate with a selection of festive snacks and goodies. Even better, shop to your heart’s content as you walk down the streets filled to the brim with exciting Chinese decorations, traditional clothing and more.

Nightly stage performances will take place at Kreta Ayer Square where local and overseas artists light up the stage with Lunar New Year songs and dances.

The annual Chingay parade will be making an appearance at Chinatown on 2 February 2020, where floats and performers take to the streets, finally marking the end of the CNY celebrations.
